There is something sad when I wake up at 4 ack emm and can't go back to sleep. It's frustrating to no end on so many levels.

Well, my eyes are getting better - my prescription has changed since last year and my eyes evidently healed some more, so now I'm test driving new contacts and a new solution for said contacts that feels like a mini chemistry set. Pop them into a this little contraption, pour solution into cup, insert contraption, screw shut and leave for at least 6 hours while it does its work. Oh, and I'm now using high-air, low-water lenses, which means that I need to use certain saline solutions. Bwah?

Getting ready to go to TRF this weekend - snacks, water and such for the trip are already readied, along with some plum wine that I found at World Market. Admidst the snacks is this dried cranberry/nut mixture that's calling my name and I'm trying very hard to plug my ears. Also got two containers of banana chips to snack on Saturday evening - walking around all day in at least three layers of clothing is going to wipe me out. We're also taking along some Loki made by a co-worker, Cecil. He made up a batch and it's supposedly apple cinnamon, but the cinnamon flavor evidently took front and center, so we may have to get some cider to cut it a bit..we'll see. But so far the weather looks heavenly - sunny and high of 74. Of course this can change without notice, so we're keeping an eye on the weather websites. It'd be nice if the temperature dropped a few more degrees - they serve hot spiced wine then. Add that to men with nice legs running around in tights and I'll be a happy girl. Huzzah! Now to just learn how to sit in a hoopskirt...

Work is still frantic, especially with the weather the way it is, and we've have quite a few people out this week already. Fun times. I still haven't decided when to go on vacation, but I've a couple of months left to work with. Talked to a former co-worker, Brian, yesterday, and he's still waiting for his promotion to go through - he's a team leader now, but without the title or the pay. He's more than a little frustrated understandably, and that's why my promotion is being stalled and more than a little stonewalled at the moment. But when I talked to Paul about when I am promoted and how I'd be taking on more responsibilities, I asked and it was confirmed that I'd be phased out of Pennsylvania. Yes, I did my happy dance, as you can well imagine.

So that's it so far at this time. Tune in next time, dear reader, for hopefully pics from TRF!
